Karavan Rent A Car in Baku Explains Car Rental Rules for Senior Drivers

Few people realize that in Azerbaijan, the validity of a national driving license actually shrinks with age: under 60, it’s issued for 10 years; past 60, only until you turn 70; past 70, just 2 years at a time. That same logic sits behind the requirement guests 65+ run into when renting a car in Baku.

Karavan Rent A Car in Baku, Azerbaijan’s largest car rental operator with a 5.0-out-of-5 rating across more than 5,000 reviews, has published a guide for older drivers: exactly what’s required to rent after 65, how to get the right document, and which car to choose for a comfortable trip.

The company applies no upper age limit for rentals — the one condition is a recent medical certificate confirming fitness to drive, issued no more than a year ago. No extra insurance surcharge is applied specifically for age.

The company also recommends arranging the certificate in advance, back home, and sending a photo of the document to managers before landing — this helps avoid delays at the rental counter.
