Baku to Gabala on the Surprise-Car S tariff: a cheap car for a trip to the regions
My name is Alexey Ponomarev, I am from Samara, and my wife and I spent eight days in Azerbaijan. We planned a few days in Baku and then a trip to Gabala and Sheki.
To keep the budget for the trip itself we chose the Surprise-Car S tariff at Karavan Rent A Car in Baku. You book the economy class and receive whichever car of that class is free.
We arranged car rental in Baku at the office and were given a clean sedan with a full tank. The condition was good: the engine ran smoothly, the brakes and tyres were in order, which is what actually matters for a long route.
The drive from Baku to Gabala took about four hours. The car held the highway calmly and the air conditioning coped with the afternoon heat.
In Gabala we went to Tufandag, Nohur Lake and the waterfall, and then continued to Sheki over the mountain road. Everything went without a single problem.
Fuel for the whole trip was inexpensive, and the reduced tariff meant we saved enough for two extra nights in a good hotel.
On the way back we stopped in Ismayilli and Shamakhi, deciding on the spot where to turn off.
If the model is not important to you and you want to save on a regional trip, I recommend the Surprise-Car S tariff for car rental in Baku. You get a normal economy car for less money.
