Parking price in Baku

Often while renting a car in Baku, our clients ask questions about parking.

In Baku, there are a large number of paid (underground, elevated, on the sidelines) parking spaces. Accordingly, the higher the price of parking in Baku more safe for car.

We also want to note that since 2018, fines for wrong  parking have been assigned to the Baku Transport Agency “BTA”, previously this task was performed by the State Transport Police “STP”

Roadside parking.

While renting a car in Baku, be aware of the possible risks when parking on the sidelines. The risks of theft, road accidents are much higher, clumsy pedestrians can also accidentally scratch a rented car with anything. The cost of parking on the side of the road inside the city is not high, and sometimes it is completely free. It will be about 0.5 AZN to 1 AZN for several hours of parking, but keep in mind that in case of damage to the car, you will not be able to prove how this happened, since the car is not monitored and no one will be liable for damage to the rented vehicle!

Be sure to familiarize yourself with the situation on the street where you want to leave your car. Are there any prohibitory parking signs, as well as making sure that you are not interfering with other traffic participants. Otherwise, you will have to pay a fine of 20 AZN for improper parking, and for the evacuation, if this happened in this case, in addition to the parking ticket, you will have to pay a tow truck from 20 AZN. Fines are issued by BNA employees manually or through security/surveillance cameras automatically.

Covered Parking / Shopping Centers

As a rule, indoor parking spaces and shopping centers are equipped with video surveillance cameras. Entry, exit and stay in this area are controlled by employees, as well as dozens of surveillance cameras. The cost of parking in these places in most cases is considered hourly (up to two hours 1 AZN) and significantly higher than when parking on the sidelines, but there are practically no risks of theft and damage to the car.

Parking at the Heydar Aliyev Airport

At the Heydar Aliyev International Airport, there is also a large parking lot for 600 parking spaces, very conveniently equipped with video surveillance, and also not very expensive. Here, the parking price is considered as soon as you enter the territory of the airport. At the entrance you receive a special plastic card with which you can make a payment in a special terminal for parking the car. Please note that you don’t have to lose the issued plastic card at the entrance, and you will have to pay 10 AZN for loss. The calculation is carried out at the rates below:

Old City Icherisheher

Be careful here. For those who do not know the prices of parking in the Old City (Icheri Sheher) will not be a pleasant surprise while leaving. Access to the old city is limited, and parking is the most expensive in Baku. Often, tourists who rent a car in our company “Karavan” (rent a car in Baku) unknowingly leave the car parked at a hotel in Icheri Sheher for the night, and in the morning they have to pay a  big receipt. It is also worth noting that parking lots are divided into zones and the price depends on traffic intensity and congestion in these areas.

As we can see in this table, the closer to the center, the higher the price for parking. Payment for parking in Baku can be made in special payment terminals  or paid in cash to the parking employee “parking attendant” (they are in a special uniform) who will probably point you to a free parking space and help you park.
