Lada (Vaz)
The observed demand for cars in the 50-60s of the last century was not passed by the Soviet Union either. The machine builders were given the goal of building a plant, the conveyor of which would be able to produce about half a million cars annually. Engineers turned to such European giants as Volkswagen, Fiat, Renault for help. The choice was the Italian giant Fiat. The Avtovaz plant was built in the city of Togliatti. It was this city that had an excellent location and logistics solution. In 1970, the long-awaited assembly began at the plant. The first car was VAZ2101, or as it is called in another way, “kopeck”. In 1975, Anatoly Zhidkov took over as director of AvtoVAZ, and it was with him that the expansion of production of models, or rather the Niva model, began. Import to many countries of the world was well established, where AvtoVAZ cars were also popular. In subsequent years, AvtoVAZ did not stop expanding and more and more new models appeared. A few years later, or rather in 1993, the 15 millionth car was assembled at the plant.
The economic crisis of 2008-2009 had a negative impact on the AvtoVAZ plant. For the first time in many years, the conveyor was stopped. Thanks to government support and the correct way out of the crisis, AvtoVAZ again began to gain momentum in the production of cars and the development and design of new models. Later, the directors of AvtoVAZ decided to attract new shareholders. They were Renault and Nissan. Available to many users in the price category, as well as simple and inexpensive to maintain, AvtoVAZ cars make them the bestsellers. During its not short period of existence, the plant has released many lines and is working on new models, some of which are Lada Granta, Vesta, and X Ray. And as funny as it sounds, only the latest models began to be produced with an automatic transmission.
The legendary Avtovaz-Niva car is available for rent in the Karavan Rent A Car in Baku company. To travel on this SUV, you just need to contact the managers of the Karavan company.
