Formula 1 in Baku: Karavan Rent A Car in Baku Warns Car Delivery to the Centre Is Impossible Until 28 September

Karavan Rent A Car in Baku is warning customers that from 20 to 28 September a rental car cannot be delivered to a hotel in the Old City (Icherisheher), by the Seaside Boulevard or on Neftchilar Avenue. The reason is the road closures introduced for the Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix, taking place on 24–26 September.

Under the traffic management plan, the streets of the Baku City Circuit and the entire area inside them are closed to cars from 01:00 on 20 September to 08:00 on 28 September. Access is possible only with a residents’ permit. Short access windows open on 21–23 September in the morning and evening, but during those hours stopping, parking, and picking up or dropping off passengers are prohibited in the transit corridors.

It’s that ban which makes handing over a car at the door of a central hotel physically impossible — not only on race days but for the whole closure period.
