Car rental with a roof box
When suitcases, bags and gear won’t fit in the boot, you can order a roof box with the car. It only goes on models with factory roof rails, such as crossovers like the Kia Sportage or Toyota RAV4, vans like the Mercedes-Benz V-Class or Kia Carnival, and SUVs. Most saloons have no rails. The box is only supplied together with a car and must be booked at least 48 hours ahead. The winter package: car rental with winter tyres
Winters in Baku are usually dry and above freezing, so the whole fleet runs on all-season tyres. Roads to Shahdag, to Tufandag in Gabala, and to Guba, Gusar, Ismayilli and Lahij can be snowbound in the cold months, though. For those routes there is the winter package: winter tyres, antifreeze screen wash, a brush and ice scraper, a 3-in-1 device (pump, battery jump starter and torch), a tow rope, work gloves and a folding shovel. “All Risks Zero” full insurance cuts two things to zero at once: the deposit and what you would owe for damage. It suits drivers heading into the mountains, newcomers to heavy Baku traffic and anyone who would simply rather not worry about scratches. “Park Me”: parking in Baku without AzParking
Paid parking in central Baku is paid through the AzParking app, and registering in it requires a local phone number. The “Park Me” service solves this: once parked, you send the space number on WhatsApp, send another short message before you leave, and the company pays for the parking. A SIM card with your car
An eSIM gives you data but not a local number, and without one you can’t register in AzParking.
