On 29 January 1886, Karl Benz applied for patent DRP 37435 for his self-propelled vehicle, the Benz Patent-Motorwagen, and the patent was granted that November. The Mercedes name came later: the 1901 car that Wilhelm Maybach designed for Emil Jellinek was named after Jellinek’s daughter, Mercedes. Daimler-Benz AG was founded on 28–29 June 1926, and that is where the Mercedes-Benz brand traces its start.
The models in our fleet date from different periods. The G-Class has been built in Graz, Austria, since February 1979. The E-Class generation our sedan belongs to was shown in Detroit in January 2016, and the current W223 S-Class on 2 September 2020. In 2014 the V-Class took over from the Viano van, and we rent out both.
How we prepare a Mercedes for rental
All eight cars have an automatic gearbox, leather seats, air conditioning, cruise control and parking sensors. A reversing camera, climate control and a Bluetooth screen are fitted to every car except the Viano, which is the most basic Mercedes in the fleet.
Every car goes in for maintenance at each 5,000 km mark: fresh oil, a full set of new filters and an inspection of the main components. New tyres go on at each 50,000 km mark. You can reach roadside help or a tow truck around the clock, and if a fault that isn’t yours stops the car, we replace it with another one.

The wheelbase is the distance between the front and rear axles. The longer it is, the more legroom rear passengers get.
Mercedes-Benz E-Class — a business sedan
The E-Class is the only business sedan among our Mercedes cars. It measures about 4.94 m, and its gearbox is a nine-speed 9G-TRONIC automatic.

Mercedes-Benz S-Class — the flagship sedan
The S-Class is almost a quarter of a metre longer than the E-Class, at 5.18 m, and 1.954 m wide without mirrors. Its longer wheelbase gives rear passengers noticeably more room. Power comes from a 3.0 straight-six petrol engine with a 9G-TRONIC gearbox.

Mercedes-Maybach S-Class — the long flagship
The Maybach is the longest sedan among our Mercedes cars, at 5.46 m. Its wheelbase is 20 cm longer than that of the long-wheelbase W222-generation S-Class this Maybach is built on, and all of that extra length went into the rear row.

Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe AMG 63 S — an AMG SUV with a coupé roof
The 4.0 biturbo V8 delivers 612 hp and 850 Nm, and the 48-volt EQ Boost starter-generator briefly adds another 22 hp. The car reaches 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds. The gearbox is the nine-speed AMG Speedshift TCT 9G, with 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive.

Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG — the G-Wagon in AMG form
The G-Class, which many people know as the G-Wagon, gets a 4.0 biturbo V8 with 585 hp and 850 Nm in G63 AMG form. It hits 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds and pairs a nine-speed gearbox with four-wheel drive.

Expected in the fleet: the new GLE, GLS and G63 AMG
Here is what Mercedes-Benz says about the new versions:
GLE and GLS. Mercedes-Benz presented the updated models at the end of March 2026. The MBUX Superscreen is now standard: three 12.3-inch displays, including a screen for the front passenger. The systems run on the MB.OS operating system, which receives over-the-air updates. The headlamps and tail lights now carry the brand’s star motifs.
The GLS has seven seats as standard: all three rows are electrically adjustable, the third row takes passengers up to 1.94 m tall, and with the second row folded the load space reaches 2,400 litres. The AIRMATIC air suspension has been given firmer tuning than before while keeping its comfort. All GLS engines are paired with a 48-volt starter-generator, and rear passengers can have an entertainment system with two 11.6-inch screens.
G63 AMG. The G-Class was updated in 2024, and the G63 gained a 48-volt starter-generator that adds up to 15 kW and up to 200 Nm to the V8. With the AMG Performance Package, 0–100 km/h takes 4.3 seconds. The options list includes AMG ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL suspension with active hydraulic roll stabilisation and a “transparent bonnet” that shows on screen what is under the front of the car.

- Age and experience: between 21 and 65, licensed for at least a year.
- What to bring: passport and licence.
- Renting with no deposit: choose “All Risks Zero” cover, or add the “No Deposit” service to your standard insurance.
- Length of rental: 24 hours minimum; trips to remote districts, three days minimum.
- Kilometres: unlimited within Azerbaijan; the cars are not taken abroad.

Questions about Mercedes rental in Baku
How is the Maybach different from the S-Class?
The Maybach’s wheelbase is almost 26 cm longer than that of our W223-generation S-Class.
Do I need a credit card?
No. You can pay for the rental in cash, by bank transfer or with a debit card. If you leave a deposit, it can be paid in cash or held on a debit card.
Can I add a second driver?
Yes. One additional driver is entered in the contract when you collect the car; it cannot be added during the rental.
Where can I return the car?
At your hotel or another place that suits you, as long as you let the manager know in advance.
Can I take the Mercedes to Karabakh?
Yes, the company allows such trips. The entry permit for the region is arranged separately on the yolumuzqarabaga.az portal.
