Karavan Rent A Car in Baku Publishes a Shahdag Weather Guide: Temperatures by Month, Off-Season Snow and the Right Car
Karavan Rent A Car in Baku’s Travelers Club has released a year-round guide to the weather at Shahdag. It answers the questions guests usually ask before heading to the resort: how cold it gets in their month of travel, whether there will be snow and what to pack.
What the guide covers:
- a table of average day and night temperatures and precipitation, plus a separate look at each of the twelve months;
- how much colder it is at the 2,552 m top station than at the 1,435 m base;
- a comparison with Baku: in July the resort is on average 9 degrees cooler than the capital by day and 13 degrees cooler at night;
- snow and snow cover outside winter recorded by the met service: in October, March, April, May and even August;
- how the mountain road changes from season to season, and how road crews clear it after snowfall;
- what to wear in winter, spring, summer and autumn, and where to check altitude-specific forecasts and the resort’s webcams before you set off;
- which car to rent: the company recommends a crossover all year round, topped up with the winter package between 1 December and 15 March, which is ordered online no later than 48 hours in advance.
